The three standard rulings
US notebook paper comes in three line spacings. College ruled is the most common for adults. Every sheet has a light top line for a title or date and a red margin line 1 1/4 inches from the left edge, like a standard notebook page.
Letter or A4
Letter (8.5 by 11 in) matches US binders and notebooks. A4 (210 by 297 mm) fits binders in most other countries. The line spacing is the same on both sizes; A4 simply has a couple more lines.
