The Panama schedule in short
Four crews, two 12-hour shifts a day. Crews A and B cover days, C and D cover nights, each working the 2-2-3 sequence over a 14-day cycle: 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off. On every date exactly one crew is on days and one on nights.
Each crew works 7 shifts every two weeks, 84 hours per 14 days, 42 hours a week on average, and gets every other weekend off from Friday to Sunday.
Reading the month pages
The PDF has one page per month of 2027. Each date lists the crew on the day shift and the crew on the night shift, with federal holidays marked. Cycle day 1 is Monday, January 4, 2027 for crew A; if your schedule is offset, the generator shifts the whole year.
Pros and cons
- More days off: about 15 days off a month and longer breaks.
- Every other weekend is a three-day weekend.
- Twelve-hour shifts are long, and short turnarounds between blocks can be tiring.
- Fixed crews keep the same shift time; some employers rotate days and nights instead (see the Pitman calendar).
